That’s my current column at Catholic World Report. It starts by quoting Nietzsche and Solzhenitsyn, asks “what lies behind the radically anti-Catholic form of society to which we are tending,” and then goes on to explain our current situation as the result of excluding God from public life.
“…then goes on to explain our current situation as the result of excluding god from public life.”
Men in general, like the talmudists of antiquity, have rejected the God of Love and Mercy, and because of that rejection and because man must have a God to worship, he has been given the present day equivalent of the “God of the Old Testament”, as it is manifested through Islam. It’s not fully manifested in this country as yet, but it is coming, for it is the answer to Jezebel who is presently in control.
Brandon,
You wrote, “It’s not fully manifested in this country as yet, but it is coming, for it is the answer to Jezebel who is presently in control.” I am convinced that you are absolutely correct. Jezebel is in control, and just as Jezebel did her best to destroy all of the prophets of the Lord in Elijah’s day, so she is doing in our present day. Right now the persecution is dry; it may turn bloody before too long.
The libertarians want some form of responsible anarchism, which makes as much sense as a meat-eating vegetarian.
The only real alternatives are a benevolent Christian despotism, or Islam. As a Christian monarchist, someone analogous to King Josiah of Judah would suit me just fine. But our country has a whole lot more dying to do before people will desire a Christian monarchy.
I believe you are right, but as to when Islam will be bossing us around, only time will tell.
Would dhimmi status under the Muslims be better than what we now have?
I hope I never have to find out first hand.
I had to look up “dhimmi”; was familar with the word, but not the exact meaning.
“Would dhimmi status under Muslims be better than what we now have?”
Short answer; yes.
“A benevolent christian despotism”. If that happens, it will be many years down the road, for the land must be purged first. And christianity, as it now appears in the world is totally jewified and feminized, so is not in any condition to rule. It, like Adam, has been going along to get along with Eve (ie Jezebel), since at least 1920. So the only dominant male entity presently existing on the world stage is the Muslim and he or an Americanized version of a like domineering patriarchy will come first.
Judging by the tone of your writing, should you live till that time, you need have no fear. It is those who have been the instruments of corrupting the country who should fear, for it is their mindset that brings it on.
I’m sure you are familar with the Jezebel mentioned in Rev. 2.
You said, “[T]he land must be purged first.” Again, I agree with you. But what I’m hoping for is the sort of “purging” described in Tolkien’s final volume “The Return of the King.” My favorite is the chapter entitled “The Scouring of the Shire”, where Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin physically run the riff-raff out of town. Clearly, this is what the traditionalist Catholic Tolkien wanted for England, and it is what I pray for in my country as well.
However, Sauron is now in control and I think we will first have to do some running from the Black Riders before things change for the better.
I couldn’t disagree more. The entrenched liberal regime, while hostile to traditional Christian civilization will nevertheless tend tolerate its privately held beliefs and practices. Like the Amish and Hasidim, islands of traditional Christianity will live on, perhaps even prosper (by our own standards), even if only as living museum pieces for our Cultural Betters. Not having a seat at the table is not the same as being a footstool, which certainly Islam, moreso in its modernist manifestations, would do to Christianity. And besides why should we have to exterminate our enemies twice? Islam is not an option–keep them out; slay them if they attack.
Amen…!
Absolutely, Steve. Liberals can still be turned (hey, all things are possible!) But how many countries which have gone Muslim have changed back to their former religion? I think the number is extremely close to zero.
